Elke Suxdorf is an intuitive abstract realism artist based in Germany. Her work brings together women, animals and elements of nature in symbolic paintings exploring intuition, inner wisdom and feminine primal power.

After many years working as a coach, Elke returned to her lifelong passion for painting and began pursuing her artistic path professionally. Her experience of working with people continues to inform her interest in the inner world — in intuition, perception, instinct and the parts of ourselves that can become forgotten.

Nature, mythology, dreams and meditation are important sources of inspiration for her work. Leopards, wolves, birds and other animals appear alongside women and flowers, creating visual connections between the human and the natural world.

Her paintings have been exhibited internationally and are created in her studio in Germany.

Artist Statement

My paintings emerge through an intuitive process. I do not begin with a fixed idea of what a painting should become. Instead, I begin with colour, texture, ink, collage and abstract layers, allowing the image to unfold organically.

As I work, figures, animals and symbols gradually emerge. Only afterwards do I discover what the painting is revealing. The story is not invented; it is found.

My work explores the relationship between the visible world and the inner world — between what we see, what we sense and what we already know within ourselves.

Women, animals, flowers and elements of nature appear as symbolic expressions of instinct, intuition, feminine primal power and inner wisdom. Some works explore the archetypal forces that live within us; others focus on perception, inner knowing, or the moments in which we change, grow and become more fully ourselves.

These different explorations come together in my collections The Archetypes of Inner Wisdom, The Art of Knowing and Moments of Becoming.

I invite the viewer to pause, look beyond the obvious, and reconnect with the wisdom, magic and primal power already carried within.
